Good news can come in so many different ways - in big moments and little moments.

[Me] Yay! Today we finally get to go into an open bassinet!! Major milestone!!! You've been gaining a lot of weight the last few days. You're 4 lbs., 7 oz. today! You're recovering well from the the kidney calcifications & the heart-wall thickening. They say you'll come off steroids all together in a couple of days!
Oh! You look so cute all bundled up in your bassinet! I hope you do well! If you don't maintain your temp, they'll put you back in the box!! They're starting to talk again about how you'll be coming home soon...I hope they're right this time.
[Casey] I came after work after Mom headed home. It was great to not see you in the isolette. I took your temp and changed my first poopy diaper. After I fed you and gave you your treatment, I got to change your 2nd poopy diaper. What an experience!!!
It was these little moments that gave us hope, that made things feel kind of normal, and gave us hope that everything was going to be ok.
